WWII Veteran Ronald Rose views the Wall of Gold Stars at the WWII Memorial in Washington, DC on Saturday, October 18, 2014. Each Gold Star on the Freedom Wall represents 100 American deaths during World War II. More than 400,000 soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen, and military personnel lost their lives or remain missing in action in World War II. Seventy-five WWII Veterans from the Westchester County area toured the WWII Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery onboard the inaugural flight from Westchester County Airport in White Plains, NY. Hudson Valley Honor Flight is a chapter of the Honor Flight Network, which provides free flights for WWII Veterans and tours of the WWII Memorial constructed in their honor, and other sites in the nation's capital. © www.chetgordon.com
